Roof Cleaning Melbourne

Remove moss, lichen and built-up grime.

We pressure clean Melbourne tiled roofs to remove moss, lichen and surface dirt. We assess the tiles first, choose a suitable cleaning method and plan water runoff around gutters, walls and nearby property.

When to call

Signs your roof needs cleaning

Tell us what you have noticed. We can assess the cause and explain the next step.

01

Moss and lichen

Organic growth across tile faces, laps, ridges and shaded roof areas.

02

Heavy grime

Years of surface dirt and atmospheric build-up dulling the roof.

03

Blocked flow paths

Debris collecting around valleys and roof drainage routes.

04

Pre-restoration cleaning

Surface preparation before final ridge repairs and any suitable coating work.

Roofer's explanation

Cleaning suited to your roof

We check for brittle tiles, damage and previous coatings before cleaning. Some roofs need repairs first or a gentler method; we explain this before work begins.

01

What we assess before cleaning

The roof material, pitch, access, tile condition, drainage and surrounding property all affect the work plan.

  • Cement or terracotta tile
  • Brittle or damaged areas
  • Previous paint or coating
  • Gutters, downpipes and runoff
  • Nearby walls, gardens and neighbouring property
02

Cleaning and treatment

Cleaning removes surface build-up and can reveal damage hidden underneath. We explain any repair needs separately. Roof leaks require diagnosis and repair even when the tiles look cleaner.

  • Use material-appropriate pressure
  • Control water direction
  • Protect nearby surfaces
  • Review defects revealed after cleaning

Roof cleaning FAQs

Roof cleaning questions

Call 0433 944 303
Is gutter cleaning included?

Roof-surface cleaning and gutter clearing are different jobs. We can quote for both, as shown in our Kew restoration project. Check your quote for the gutters, valleys and downpipe entries included; full downpipe or drainage repairs are separate.

What affects cleaning time and price?

Roof area, pitch, access, tile condition and the amount of growth or debris affect the work. Repairs and gutter cleaning are identified separately in the quote. Moss and lichen can return, especially in shaded areas, so future maintenance depends on the property.

Will roof cleaning fix a leak?

No. Cleaning removes surface build-up; it is not a substitute for repairs. If damage is visible, we can explain the repair options separately.

Can cleaning be part of a full restoration?

Yes. Pressure cleaning is normally an important preparation stage in a tiled roof restoration, before final ridge and coating work.

How do you protect the rest of the property?

We review gutters, downpipes, nearby walls and surrounding surfaces before cleaning, then plan protection and water runoff for the property. Access and roof layout determine the approach.
