Roof Repairs & Leak Repairs Melbourne

Roof repairs that stop the problem at its source.

Leaking roof, broken tiles or damaged flashing? We inspect the likely entry points and explain the repair needed. Water can travel before it appears on your ceiling, so we check the surrounding roof as well as the visible fault.

Roofer's explanation

Finding the source of a roof leak

Water can travel along tiles, battens, rafters or underlay before it becomes visible indoors. We use the symptom, weather pattern and roof condition together to narrow down the likely entry point.

01

Common tiled-roof leak sources

A useful inspection considers the whole water path rather than assuming the first cracked tile is the only fault.

  • Broken or slipped tiles
  • Failed ridge bedding or pointing
  • Rusted valleys and valley seals
  • Lead, apron and chimney flashing faults
  • Skylights, penetrations and previous repairs
  • Blocked or overflowing drainage
02

How we narrow down the cause

Tell us which room is affected, whether the leak appears in heavy or wind-driven rain and what repairs have been attempted before.

  • Review the internal symptom
  • Inspect likely roof entry points
  • Check adjacent junctions and drainage
  • Explain the evidence behind the proposed repair

What affects the cost of a roof repair?

The cause of the leak, roof height and pitch, access, materials and extent of damage affect the price. Your written quote identifies the repairs and any additional work separately.

How do I arrange an inspection?

Send your suburb, a description of the issue and any photos you can take safely from the ground. Tell us when the leak happens and about previous repairs. Inspection timing depends on availability, weather and access.

Can you find a roof leak that only appears in heavy rain?

Yes. Intermittent leaks can relate to wind direction, flashings, valleys, roof penetrations or cracked tiles. Details about when and where the leak appears help guide the inspection.

Does one broken tile mean I need a restoration?

Not usually. A small number of broken tiles can often be replaced as a targeted repair. We recommend restoration only when the wider roof condition makes it worthwhile.

Do you repair cement and terracotta tile roofs?

Yes. Supreme Roofing Group repairs both cement and terracotta tiled roofs, subject to inspection and matching tile availability.

Can ridge pointing be repaired without rebedding?

Sometimes. Repointing renews the outer pointing, while rebedding replaces failed mortar beneath the ridge caps. If the bedding is loose or no longer sound, it needs attention before new pointing. The inspection determines which sections need each repair.

Does a leaking valley need new metal or storm seals?

These are different repairs. We inspect the metal valley, the adjacent tiles and the valley-edge detail. Failed mortar beside a serviceable valley may suit removal and storm seals; corroded or damaged valley metal may need replacement. Our Donvale project retained the existing metal valleys, while our Surrey Hills project included valley replacement. Your quote identifies which work is needed.

Can damaged roof flashing be repaired or does it need replacement?

Flashing directs water away from roof junctions, such as where tiles meet a wall, chimney or skylight. The material, condition and junction detail determine whether a local repair is suitable or replacement is needed. Sealant alone will not correct every flashing fault. Our Canterbury project records replacement apron flashings at wall-to-tile junctions.

What should I compare in roof repair quotes?

Compare the fault being addressed, the roof sections included, proposed materials and tile matching, access requirements and exclusions. Ask how any additional faults will be handled and which workmanship terms apply to the quoted repair.
